WBGY (88.1 FM) is a radio station broadcasting a mix of Adult contemporary music, news, and talk. Licensed to Naples, Florida, USA, the station serves the Marco Island area. The station is currently owned by Everglades City Broadcasting.[1] The station is co-owned by Bob Ladd, former long-time owner and personality of WNRR radio in Sandusky, Ohio; and Paul Lethbridge, former CBC television national news anchor and Toronto radio personality [2]
The station is repeated on W251BL 98.1 MHz; licensed to Everglades City, the repeater serves the Marco Island area.[3][4] [5] [6]
In addition to its mix of news, music and talk, WBGY has plans to broadcast Lely High School football and basketball, beginning in Fall 2012.[4]
In the 1970s, WBGY was the call sign of a 100,000 watt FM station at 93.3 licensed for operation in Tullahoma, TN. It was owned by Jerry Newton, the brother of singer Wayne Newton.
