Lutfuddaulah Oriental Research Institute[1][2] was named after Nawab Lutf ud-Dowlah Muhammad Lutf ud-Din Khan Bahadur Latafat Jang (Born 16 July 1883, Died 31 March 1937, A.D.) and was founded by Noted Scholar Hakeem Sayyid Shamsullah Qadri in circa 1937 at Hyderabad,Deccan,India.

Nawab Lutf ud-Dawlah Bahadur [3][4] was the son of Nawab Shams ul-Mulk Shams ud-Dawlah Muhammad Hafiz ud-Din Khan Bahadur Zafar Jung[5] and the grandson of Amir i Ka-bir Shams ul-Umara Nawab Sir Khurshid Jah Muhammad Muhi-ud-Din Khan Bahadur Tegh Jang, K.C.I.E.,[6] to whom the Princess Husain un-Nisa Begam,[7] the eldest daughter of Asaf Jah V Nawab Afzal ud-Dawlah BahadurAfzal ad-Dawlah, Asaf Jah V, had been married.
