Lutfuddaulah Oriental Research Institute [1][2] was named after Nawab Lutf ud-Dowlah Muhammad Lutf ud-Din Khan Bahadur Latafat Jang (Born 16th July, 1883, Died 31st March, 1937, A.D.) and was founded by Noted Scholar Hakeem Sayyid Shamsullah Qadri in circa 1937 at Hyderabad,Deccan,India.

History

Nawab Lutf ud-Dawlah Bahadur [3][4] was the son of Nawab Shams ul-Mulk Shams ud-Dawlah Muhammad Hafiz ud-Din Khan Bahadur Zafar Jung[5] and the grandson of Amir i Ka-bir Shams ul-Umara Nawab Sir Khurshid Jah Muhammad Muhi-ud-Din Khan Bahadur Tegh Jang, K.C.I.E.,[6] to whom the Princess Husain un-Nisa Begam[7], the eldest daughter of Asaf Jah V Nawab Afzal ud-Dawlah BahadurAfzal ad-Dawlah, Asaf Jah V, had been married. It was to her that Nawab Lutf ud-Dawlah's father was born.

throughout his life Nawab Lutfuddawlah had keen Interest in promoting the cause of literature and arts[8].

In the month of December, 1936, Nawab Lutf ud-Dawlah Bahadur proceeded to Vienna to undergo medical treatment, and while on his way back to Haidarabad, he died on board the Ship ' Viceroy of India 'RMS Viceroy of India near Adan and was buried in his family grave-yard at Haidarabad[9].

It was then in Memory of Nawab Lutfuddawlah who was two year older to Sayyid Shamsullah qadri. Lutfuddaulah Oriental Research institute was Established in circa 1937 by Hakeem Sayyid Shamsullah qadri at Hyderabad Deccan [10].

The Research Institute

The Institute featured were rare collections such as the Encyclopedia of Religion, Geography,Biography,History,Generalities ,Language,Linguistics,Literature, Ethics,social sciences by noted Scholar Hakeem Sayyid Shamsullah Qadri It was the Public library in Hyderabad state for research and editing of manuscripts. The Prime focus was Research and development. Students of Masters of Arts (Urdu, Persian language) and others, have researched a lot from the Institute. Many of them Researched for their PH.D., Thesis [11][12] there were Many Memorial Series was published from the Lutfuddaulah Oriental Research Institute.
