Row of shops opposite the hospital entrance includes Clarke and Crittenden that has been there many a year. The was once a butchers (A & A), a greegrocer shop and Carretti sweet shop that was run by Joan and Aldo ! Jermains the restaurant was well-known and the fish mongers was also ! The Dog and Duck pub is turned into offices for the Hospital Building site although the church still stands in the grounds its not used. Westbrook also has a great beach, This is home to The Westbrook Aqua Club which is a fine venue and run by Pat and Co for many years ! (Still there). Westbrook is a great place. Oh and Micheals fish and chips is now gone to ! |
