I looked up the original Darby & Melson paper & determined that the original statement in parentheses is correct. In case a reader wants to verify... a Darcy laminar friction factor is 64/Re, while a Fanning factor is 16/Re. if you open the Darby & MElson paper you'll see on page one they define their friction factor "FL"=16/Re. In all the rest of their formulae, they use this "FL." undo
